Choose a campaigner.
Choose to win.
My values are clear
Alex knows what she believe in: social justice, tolerance and reward for hard work. She's been faced with decisions in the European Parliament, so you can judge her on her record.
Our public services matter. That’s why Alex campaigns with our trade union colleagues for better pay and conditions for hardworking doctors and nurses. She’s recently visited dozens of hospitals to back UNISON’s campaign.
Red and Green. Alex’s politics have always been both red and green. When she was the National Coordinator for SERA she helped write Labour’s environmental policy. She’s a member of the RSPB, a Show the Love climate campaigner and has fiercely attacked the Government on air pollution.
Animal welfare. Alex works with Cruelty Free International on the global campaign to end animal testing for cosmetics. This involves lobbying the UN and world leaders.
Workers’ rights. Alex has been a trade union member all her working life. She has a track record of voting to enhance workers' rights, backing new laws protecting millions of workers from exposure to carcinogens, for greater protection for whistleblowers and for action on zero hour contracts.
Socialist values. When put to the test Alex proved her socialist principles. She voted against CETA (a Canada trade deal which could mean TTIP by the back door).
Human rights. A life long Amnesty International member, Alex sits on the human rights committee. She learned from her grandparents who fled the Nazis that tolerance and diversity mattered.
