Hertfordshire Euro MP Alex Mayer officially opened a brand new Digital Technology Centre to help local young people into employment.
Ms Mayer met up with budding young techies who benefit from the latest technology, taking part in innovative programmes on offer in management training, social media marketing and cybercrime prevention.
The programmes have received over £100,000 of European funding, and aim to bridge the gap between the skills of young local people and the skills needed to gain employment, starting with 60 local young people over the next 3 months.
Rose Lavin, Chief Executive of TCHC said: “The focus of opening the Digital Technology Centre is to allow local people to develop the technological skills, further their careers and support the local economy and community.”
Ms Mayer added: “It’s a real privilege to launch this innovative centre.
“Digital skills are now more important than ever, and it’s great to see the real tangible benefit of European money here in Watford. It looks like it will be a real success!”
