East of England photographers are urged to get snapping to show why their city is an fantastic inclusive place to live.
The ‘My Social City’ competition was launched today in the European Parliament and Euro MP Alex Mayer wants as many local people to get involved as possible.
Amateur and professional photographers are challenged to capture images of inclusiveness so that everyone feels a part of their city.
The three best photos will be selected by a jury with the winners being invited to an award ceremony that will take place in Brussels at the end of this year.
Prizes include £1,300 in photographic equipment and a trip to Brussels.
The competition runs until 30 June 2018 and is open to all EU residents aged 18 and over.
Ms Mayer said “With Brexit on the horizon Britain is in danger of getting a reputation of being inward looking and intolerant. This is a great opportunity to showcase that Cambridge is an international tolerant and fantastic city. Aspiring photographers should snap up this chance to get their pictures in front of a European audience."
