“End NHS Winter Of Misery” Says Alex Mayer MEP

The worst ever NHS Winter crisis is being debated in parliament today. (Wednesday 10 January).

18% of East of England patients have been stuck waiting for more than 30 minutes in the back of an ambulance outside hospital this winter.

East of England MEP Alex Mayer says it is time for Theresa May to provide urgent funding to tackle the winter crisis and ensure cancelled operations are rescheduled as soon as possible.
Alex Mayer MEP said: “Instead of reshuffling her Government Theresa May needs to get an urgent grip of this escalating crisis because yet again patients and staff are facing an appalling and entirely predictable winter crisis.

"Far from the £350 million red bus lie of the Euro Referendum, the simple truth is that Theresa May has failed to allocate sufficient winter funding to tackle the expected spike in demand during the coldest period of the year.
“She needs to step up and find the cash and end this winter of misery.”
